There will be a virtual workshop following the first PTA meeting of the year (September 22nd). Susan Townsend Holt, Family Life Coach, will address one dilemma many families are facing this fall - screen time! 

"This workshop will give you the foundation to manage a "new normal" this fall, which is anything but... to begin creating a healthy and joyful home both on-screen and off."

Despite our virtual start to the school year, our teachers have requested that they still have room parents. The "duties" will look different during virtual learning, but will transition to the typical room parent role when we return to the classroom.

Don't forget that all volunteers for the new school year will need to complete a new volunteer form. Forms can be dropped off at the front office or mailed in to the school (attention: Ruth Wicks). 

Volunteer Form

Things are a bit different this year and that includes the RVA Cares 5k. This is a virtual race which means you can run, walk or stroll in your neighborhood, park, treadmill- wherever! Log your miles now through Sept. 19th.  It's a great way to do something as a family while showing our kids that giving back to the community is fun! It's not too late to join the Gators On The Run Team! Girl Scouts get a Fun Patch with registration! Go to www.rvacares5k.com to sign up and make sure you click "Join a Team". If you registered in the Spring, you're registration is still valid. Check the website for info on packet pickup Friday September 18, 3-5pm in the Gayton Bus Loop. The PTA's website is now streamlined so you can access the directory, store, volunteer sign-ups, calendar, communications and more ALL IN ONE PLACE!

In an effort to get more families to sign up for this vital tool, existing families in the system will receive an initial email with specific log-in directions to update your information.

To create your Membership Toolkit Account: 

• Go to gaytonpta.com.
• Click on the Register/Login button.
• If you already have an account with another organization that uses Membership Toolkit you can use the same email and password to login. You can then proceed to the numbered steps below.
• Select "Create Account" and fill in the name, email, and password information.
• Click "verify my email" and then check your email for a link to complete the process. The link expires in 2 hours. If you do not receive the email, check your spam or junk folders.
• Once you have verified your email address, log back in and finish the registration process.

1. Complete the Parent/Family and Student Information.

2. Complete the Directory/Publish Preferences.

3. Once these forms are complete, you will be presented with forms for PTA Membership, Gator Giving, and Volunteer Opportunities. All of your Back-to-School needs in one convenient place!

Once the Primary Account is set up, the Primary User can "invite" other email addresses to access his/her account. This allows the Secondary User to have their own login information, but still have access to the family account.
